The Reverend Taylor D. Daynes
In February 2019, the Church of the Epiphany welcomed the Rev. Taylor Daynes as our new priest-in-charge. Taylor was ordained to the priesthood in October of 2018, and Epiphany is her first parish call. In addition to her ministry with us, Taylor serves as the Episcopal Chaplain to Cornell University. She lives in Ithaca with her husband, Will.
Though she’s originally from Wenham, Massachusetts, Taylor has lived, studied, and worked in many cities and states. Before moving to Central New York, Taylor served for a short time as a deacon and intern at St. Paul’s Church in Rochester, and before that, as the Community Engagement Coordinator at her sending parish, Emmanuel Episcopal Church in Baltimore, Maryland. During her four years in Baltimore, Taylor also taught creative writing at Johns Hopkins, where she earned her MFA in poetry in 2015. She’s studied Anglican Theology at the University of Toronto, holds an MA in religion from Yale Divinity School, and a BA in English from Vanderbilt University. She’s a published poet, a former professional gardener, and an amateur illustrator. She looks forward to sharing these and other interests with the people of Epiphany as we grow together in our ministry.
